In Memory of Senator Lugar

It is with profound sadness that the German-American Heritage Foundation mourns the passing, on April 28, 2019, of Richard G. Lugar, former United States Senator (R-Indiana), a great German-American, a valued personal friend and a kind supporter of our organization.

In March 2010, GAHF opened its new headquarters and museum at 719 Sixth Street NW in Washington, DC.  Senator Lugar honored us in jointly leading the ribbon-cutting ceremony along with German Ambassador Klaus Scharioth and GAHF President Bern Deichmann.

We mourn with our nation the loss of a great statesman and German-American, and we send our deepest respects and sympathies to the entire Lugar family.

With grateful remembrance,
The Board of Directors of the German-American Heritage Foundation of the USA
