We are excited to announce that Dr. Hans-Jörg Königsmann has agreed to be our 2023 Distinguished German American of the Year. As one of the first 
employees of SpaceX, still a startup at the time, he was hired by Elon Musk in 2002 as VP of Avionics, later became Launch Chief Engineer, and finally rose to the rank of VP of Build and Flight Reliability where he was responsible for the safe completion of SpaceX missions. The award will be presented on Oct. 7 at a formal gala at the historic Willard Hotel in Washington, DC. Please stay tuned for more information!
