Christmas Concert with the Alpine Singers: Dec. 17 at 7 PM
It’s not Christmas without the Alpine Singers! The ever popular group will be back at the German-American Heritage Museum with classic carols for Advent and Christmas on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 7 pm.
Founded in 1996 by the late Herbert Traxler and his wife Carol Traxler, the Alpine Singers perform a variety of Austrian and German music. The a cappella singing group performs in the greater Washington area with a repertoire ranging from Volksmusik to Jodler, and from Baroque music to the works of living composers. Their Christmas concerts feature beloved classics like “Silent Night” and lesser-known carols from Austria and Bavaria. Come and celebrate the festive season with us, and enjoy Glühwein (mulled wine), along with Christmas delicacies such as Lebkuchen and Stollen, bratwurst and more. All children under 12 will receive a chocolate Santa. We look forward to welcoming you at the GAHM. You can even wear your best Dirndl or Tracht, and don’t forget to sing along!
