German-American Bakeoff & Bake Sale

Saturday, April 27 from 2-4 pm

Join us on Saturday, April 27 for a German-American baking competition and bake sale! Whether a hobby baker or a professional, all are welcome to enter. Bake your favorite German or German-American sweet treat (cake, pie, cookie, tart, etc.) and enter to win prizes from local and online retailers. The competition will be judged by professional bakers and food industry workers and prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. To enter, email your name and proposed baked good to [email protected] by Friday, April 19. If you do not send your proposed item by this date we cannot guarantee entry to the competition!

If you prefer to eat rather than bake, following the competition judging the bake sale will begin and all the competition items will be available for purchase. If you would prefer to contribute a baked good for the bake sale without entering the competition, you are more than welcome to do so; simply email your name and item to [email protected], stating that is for the bake sale only, by April 19, so we can get an accurate count of what will be available to buy.

Those who attend the bake sale and/or enter the competition will also be able to view the exhibit "Culinary Customs: A Taste of Germany." From 2-4 pm there will be no entry fee for the museum (donations are always welcome and appreciated however).
