Message from the Executive Director – May 2017
The German-American Heritage Foundation of the USA® appreciates the support and cultural programming of our member clubs and organizations, which we are eager to highlight in this edition of GAHF Club Connect.
We are excited to work with member organization the Missouri Germans Consortium by featuring “The Missouri Immigrant Experience: Faces and Places”, a traveling exhibit developed in conjunction with the Missouri Immigrant and Refugee Advocates, which opens tomorrow at the GAHM.
This month, we feature four clubs from across the country that showcase the diversity of German-American cultural traditions. We hope that you will learn more about the German-American clubs in your community and how they are continuing the traditions brought over to the United States by the generations before them.
We were thrilled to showcase “100 Years of Hollywood: The Laemmle Effect” at the Deutscher Club of Clark, NJ this month. If your club is interested in hosting the exhibit, please contact us at 202-467-5000 or at [email protected]. We also give thanks to the Deutscher Club as well as the Plattdütsche Volksfest Vereen, Oakland Turnverein-Mixed Chorus, and the Austrian Donau Club for their support.
Since our establishment 40 years ago, our mission has been to serve as the umbrella organization in the nation’s capital for German-American clubs and organizations across the country.
