Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program

Do you know a high school student who wants to spend a year abroad? The Council on International Educational Exchange, or CIEE, a nonprofit organization, is looking for students with U.S. citizenship who are between 15 and 18 (birthdates: Feb. 1, 2002 – Aug. 1, 2005) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher to apply for a fully-funded academic year in Germany.

Participants will be living with a German host family, attend German school, and serve as youth ambassadors. Established in 1983, the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Scholarship sends 250 American high school pupils to live and study in Germany while welcoming German teens to live and study in the U.S. The program aims to foster cultural understanding and diplomacy, while also promoting the German and English languages. This is a perfect opportunity to fully immerse yourself in another culture.

The program is jointly funded by the German Bundestag and the U.S. Congress. Applications for the 2020/2021 academic year are due by Dec. 3, 2019! Final notifications will be sent by April, 2020.

Interested candidates can apply at www.usagermanyscholarship.org.
