Born in Princeton, NJ, Robin’s interest in and love of her German heritage began at a young age. Her family moved to the Netherlands, close to the German border, when she was 2 and lived there for 9 years. Her grandparents emigrated to the US from Kiel and Eschelbronn, and lived on a farm in Mount Bethel, PA. Together with her grandparents, she attended German-American club events and Oktoberfest celebrations.
She studied at Gettysburg College where she earned a B.A. in German with a minor in economics and a concentration in French. A semester abroad at Heidelberg University helped her further develop her German language skills.
Since 1994 she has been working at Hannover Fairs USA, Inc., the US subsidiary of Deutsche Messe AG. As Director of Operations, she has been responsible for organizing USA Pavilions at the exhibition grounds in Hannover, Germany.
She manages the logistics and planning with German vendors, while helping US companies prepare for successful trade show participation in Hannover.
The German-American Heritage Foundation is dear to her heart, and she hopes to continue her father’s work.
