German-American Heritage Museum of the USA™

The German-American Heritage Museum of the USA™ opened in March, 2010 in a building once known as Hockemeyer Hall. Renovations were completed by the GAHF after acquiring the building in 2008. Located on 6th Street NW in the heart of the old European-American section of Washington, the Museum sits in what is now a thriving commercial neighborhood.

Internships

The German-American Heritage Museum is currently looking for interns to assist with various administrative and business-related tasks. Students may receive college credit and are expected to work at least 15 hours per week.

Please note that in-person internships are strongly preferred with an option for hybrid work if needed.

Basic qualifications include an interest in German language and culture, as well as strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Interns will have the opportunity to develop their professional skills focusing on different areas that are of importance in non-profit and for-profit organizations.

The positions include a mix of different tasks, including drafting promotional content, creating presentations, setting up exhibits, assisting with special events, research, and administrative work.

To apply, please send your resume, a cover letter, and a writing sample (ideally one in English and one in German) to [email protected]. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.
