Personal & Mission Statement

Living and working six months in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany and the other half in Northfield, Minnesota since 1992. After teaching as a Professor of German at St. Olaf and Carleton College my firm deus GmbH, INTERNATIONAL CONNECTIONS, is finding, facilitating and incubating new business connections between the US-Midwest & the Baltic Sea region.
Two heartlands. —by the way it is pronounced “deuce”; no comment on the Latin- navigates your transatlantic expansion. Born and raised in Flensburg, I finished 13 years of school with the German Abitur. Studies at the Universities of Kiel and Bochum combined with research trips to the US. I finished with a historical Ph. D. thesis on Schleswig-Holstein’s immigrants in America. I have organized many group tours from the USA to Northern Germany and vice versa. Published several books on the immigrant issue. Member of German-American organizations. Married with Gitta.
