Personal & Mission Statement

An educator for twenty-nine years, John Carroll has taught elementary and middle school, served as vice principal, and participated in archdiocesan curriculum mapping projects. He has immensely enjoyed working with children, parents, and colleagues. Currently, he teaches fifth grade at Our Lady of Czestochowa School, a Blue Ribbon School, in Jersey City, NJ. John also works as an instructor at Saint Peter’s University in the Reading Center of its School of Education.

In addition to professional pursuits, John’s avocations have an educational side. He has volunteered at several National Park Service historic sites. John has served as a Boy Scout leader for many years, at present he is active with his church’s Cub Scout Pack.

John’s German heritage lies on his mother’s side. His grandfather always described himself as “Pennsylvania Dutch”. His family came to America in the eighteenth century. John’s grandmother was Vistula German, and her family arrived in the United States in the 1890s. He is a proud member of Deutscher Club of Clark, NJ and Germania Park, Dover, NJ.
