Winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Nowhere in Africa stars Juliane Köhler and Merab Ninidze in this riveting autobiographical screenplay about a German Jewish lawyer and his family during the Third Reich. Set in 1938, the Redlich family flees to Kenya from Nazi Germany to escape the increasing persecution of Jewish-Germans. Walter Redlich, a former lawyer, finds work as a farm manager and sends for his wife and daughter, who adjust to their new environments at drastically different paces.
