Erik Hotmire is a Partner at the global communications consultancy Brunswick Group LLP. As co-lead of Brunswick’s global Financial Institutions Group, Erik advises clients on crisis, litigation, corporate reputation and regulatory matters with a focus on strategic counsel, media handling and public affairs.
Erik has counseled clients including Barclays, BNP Paribas, Santander, Bank of America, The Clearing House, HSBC, Standard Chartered, AIG, Prudential, Moody’s, Microsoft, Restaurant Brands International (Burger King/Tim Hortons), the Semiconductor Industry Association and several alternative investment firms. He has advised Facebook on its $16 billion IPO, Lending Club on its $900 million IPO and Nokia on its $17 billion acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent.
Prior to joining Brunswick, Erik served as Senior Advisor to the Chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Special Assistant to the President and White House spokesman, Director at public affairs firm Clark & Weinstock, and US Senate Communications Director. He began his career as a radio and television journalist. Erik is a member of the Board of Visitors of the Fund for American Studies’ Institute on Comparative Political and Economic Systems and serves on the Board of Directors of the German American Heritage Foundation.
