Berlin Wall comes to DC

Today a piece of the Berlin Wall arrives in Washington, DC.   Acquired by and for the German-American Heritage Foundation of the USA®,  the piece of the Wall will be on display for the next two years at the German Embassy.

Berlin Wall comes to DC

Two years ago, upon hearing that a few sections of the Berlin Wall were still available, our VP of Finance, Hardy von Auenmüller petitioned the Berlin Senate, and was granted permission to pick up two pieces at the Gärten der Welt.  These pieces were shipped to the US in August 2014 – courtesy of Kühne & Nagel.  While one was placed immediately onto the new Joseph Leidy Terrace adjacent to the German Society building in Philadelphia, the other  has recently been placed on to the grounds of the German Embassy in Washington, DC.  It will remain there on loan for  two years.

The German-American Heritage Foundation of the USA® is proud of this acquisition.
